SHRM - Detroit Metro Chapter Picks Pritchard For V.P. Marketing and Board of Directors

DETROIT, MI July 31, 2006 -- The SHRM Detroit chapter - Human Resources Association of Greater Detroit - recently named its 2006-2007 officers and board of directors. HRAGD is the largest human resources professional association in southeastern Michigan with over 800 members from Michigan and Ohio. This local SHRM association provides a wide variety of professional development and networking opportunities for area professionals with human resources responsibilities.

"Human Resources is vital to organizational success in a knowledge economy," said Barbara Hagan president of SHRM - HRAGD. "Partly in recognition of this and partly because of downsizing taking place in SE Michigan, we needed a strong marketing leader to maintain and grow our branding and image. Ed Pritchard responded to my request and we are delighted to have such a knowledgeable individual on the board to support and advance local HR professionals. Ed will be responsible for our Vital Partners program, Branding and Public Relations."

HRAGD is the metro Detroit chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management - SHRM. HRAGD traces its roots to the Detroit Employment Managers Club, which began meeting in 1916.
With 90 years of history and 800 members, HRAGD is both one of the oldest and one of the largest professional associations in southeast Michigan. The Chapter's diverse membership represents more than 600 large and small corporations and organizations in the metro area. Members range from entry level to senior professionals and work in specialist and generalist roles. HRAGD promotes the advancement of the human resource profession by offering members a wide variety of professional development opportunities and a forum in which to share ideas and experiences.
